Dear Prospective Parent/Guardian,

I am pleased to welcome you and your ward(s) to our School and to share with you this prospectus developed by the Management of Happy Heart School (HHS).

The prospectus is the School’s formal statement of policies, objectives, aspirations and philosophy, which factors in the expectations of parents and staff, as well as government directives through the Ministry of Education (MoE) and the Ghana Education Service (GES).

HHS is a safe, friendly and pleasant School that our pupils and parents are proud of. The Management and Staff make it a point to know each child personally and relate with their individual needs. We maintain small class sizes and encourage Teachers and Staff to keep a bond of closeness to the child.

We are open to accepting children from all nationalities, races and creeds on a rolling admissions basis (all year round), subject to the availability of class vacancies.

Parents are key stakeholders in our partnership to raise these children to give them hope and a great future. Our aim is to bring satisfaction to all stakeholders, make each heart happy – child, parent and School management alike. Our motivation is that a happy child makes a good learner, and also that a happy parent makes a good supporter! Our Approach

We combine the Montessori approach with the traditional GES curriculum in a supportive and well-organized learning environment that promotes global development (i.e., cognitive, emotional, physical, and social) of the child.


At HHS, we strive to create an environment that enables children to develop and apply critical thinking skills, emboldens them, and promotes teamwork because we recognize these to be the key skill set required in today’s world.

Our History & Environment

HHS was started by Isaac and Harriet Asante as a private company on 31stJuly 2014. The Dome community has been experiencing a teeming growth in population, currently the 19th largest settlement in Ghana with a population of78,785 (source: Wikipedia, March 2021). TheSchool started operating with a set of twins atDome, Accra on August 11, 2014. The facility hassince been growing and become the popularchoice for many working parents as a conducive, homely and scholarly setting for the early development of their wards. The School is having an impressive rate of growth.

Our Campus & Facilities

HHS is set out on a 21,000 square-foot site with spacious classrooms which provide an atmosphere conducive to learning and playgrounds promoting children’s recreational activities. The entire perimeter of the compound is walled and monitored by security staff who keep pupils safe whenever they are present on the school premises. Our computer room is equipped with WIFI accessible to teachers and pupils to enable internet-based research and the teaching and learning of ICT.

Our Faculty

The school’s twenty-seven employees consist of eighteen teachers and care staff (both full-time and part-time) and nine Admin/Support staff. All subjects are taught by full-time teachers in the Basic school, with the exception of Chinese, French, Music, and ICT lessons which are delivered by part-time staff. All the Basic School (KG/Primary/Junior High School) teachers hold at least a bachelor's degree or a tertiary level qualification. Our highly experienced pre-school staff have undergone early childhood development training and are well-versed in the Montessori approach.
